It was round 2 of the Northern Downhill race series and Hamsterley Forest was the venue. Hamsterley forest is our main local track so we pretty much know it like the back of our hand, but when we arrived Friday night, to our surprise the track was completely different to what we had expected and was a completely new track that we had never ridden before. NDH Round 1 Kidland
Published April 19th, 2010Kidland Forest near Rothbury was host to Round 1 of the NDH Series and this time last year it was blazed in beautiful hot sunshine, unfortunately this year was the complete opposite with snow on the top of the hill and rain all weekend which made for one of the wettest races I have ever been to.
The track had only been ridden for two races last year both of which were in the dry however the weekend forecast was not and the track was really going to be put to the test as the ground had only been snow free for a few days which meant you were riding through 8inchs of slop in places.
