Joe is having an amazing season so far and seems to be getting quicker and quicker every race. Back in early May at the start of the season Joe managed to get his first ever podium coming 3rd in the NDH Round 2 at Hamsterley forsest. Joe has now added a second podium to his C.V. Coming 1st at the NDH Round 3 Alwinton.
The track at Alwinton was one of the hardest race courses we have ever been too even more difficult than last years llangollen and many riders turned home and didn’t bother racing, which is a credit to our guys who stayed with it and stuck it out. Congratulations have to go to Lee Baxter too for coming 2nd in the Masters and Andy Fowles 5th in senior.
Just last weekend Joe also put in an excellent result coming 5th at Dunkeld in the Scottish Champs. Dunkeld is one of the most technical race courses in the UK and is a true mans track!!! Saturday practice was a bit of a wash out as the rain just got heavier as the day went on and with the amount of roots and rocks on the hillside it was a slippy affair to say the least. Sunday morning was dry and sunny and the heavy rain over night had altered the track conditions yet again. Come race time the track was beginning to run a bit slower as it dried and the mud got stickier.
Last year Joe missed his trip to France after crashing on this course and breaking his hip and this year he started off in a similar fashion. On his first run down on sturday practice Joe crashed and dislocated his finger. Fortuntly he managed to pop it back in and pushed through the pain barrier to come an excellent 5th on a very difficult track.
I just wanted to say on behalf of all the team congratulations mate on all your results so far this season, you are on fire at the moment and gettin quicker all the time. Keep up the good work Joe!!!! Well done!!!
